ECLIPSE, beat the wings to the world!

The first importer meeting for the ECLIPSE brand was held at Hotel New Otani in Kobe on July 25 and 26.
The meeting enjoyed participation by Asian importers, from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Malaysia.
They were also joined by staff members from our affiliates in Australia and the United States,
who rushed in to provide support for a useful meeting.

The meeting did not come about all of a sudden. We first launched the ECLIPSE brand in North America in 1989, and then expanded it to Japan in 1995, to Thailand and South Korea in 2000, and then to Thailand, Malaysia, and Australia in 2001. At first we focused on North American merchandise. Despite obstacles involving certification and different radio frequencies, DVD region codes, and pictorial systems, merchandise input into the market made steady progress as these issues were handled effectively. Dissimilarities were also found in technical dimensions of advertising and sales promotion, which play an important role in the establishment of a brand, but these problems were solved one after another as a result of cooperation among the related parties. Then, we called attention to plans for VISION 2012 and other new global products, as well as to advertising and sales promotion support.
We conducted further sales seminars using successful examples from North American and Australia and case studies of sales pitches, targeting sales outlets. The kick-off meeting, held under the keyword Team ECLIPSE, came after these efforts.
